DEMONSTRATIONS

 

Approaches to Drawing or Painting – Figure, Landscape or Still Life

The first part of the demonstration introduces approaches, exercises, techniques and media and can be structured to society members. The artist covers the Formal Elements in relation to the subject matter chosen.

The second half of the demonstration can take the form of the production of a demonstration piece by the artist, accompanied by explanation as the work progresses. Members are encouraged to develop your own approach to subject matter and technique. Societies with more experienced artists may prefer a tutored session, with guidance for individuals producing their own pieces.

 

 

Appraisal and Advice

A discussion of members’ works, advice, suggestions for developing the pieces, in addition to praise! Reference to the Formal Elements and Principles of Art will be made.

 

 

Exhibition / Prize Selection

The artist makes a selection of work for exhibition from an open or members’ entry. The award of prizes can also be done at a session. Please enquire for details – rates dependant on duration of session.

 

 

Individual Drawing Tuition

In the planning stages – sessions would include tuition in drawing techniques and use of media in relation to a choice of subject matter. Suitable for those who wish to learn to see and understand.
